What happened to Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon Financial was a brand associated with the La Posta Band of Diegueño Mission Indians' lending enterprise, but the back-end operators found liable were Lead Express, Inc. and related companies (Takehisa Naito and Keishi Ikeda). The FTC's case (FTC v. Lead Express, 2021) targeted the operation run as Harvest Moon Financial, Gentle Breeze Online, and Green Stream Lending, alleging deceptive fixed-repayment marketing and illegal undisclosed finance charges. The settlement permanently banned the operators from making loans, with a $114.3 million judgment (partially suspended), and treated outstanding illegal finance charges as paid in full.
